Late Summer Assessment (LSA)

Examination Period 24 August – 11 September 

The examination timetable will schedule those assessments that were assessed as a 24 hour timed online exam during the Main 2020 examination period.  The examination timetable will be scheduling 24 hour online exams for deferred students only.  Finalist and PGT resits will be held in January, resits for continuing students will take place during the main examination period next summer.   

The draft examination timetable review period for departments is 20 – 23 July.  The timetable will be published to students via email 28 July. 
 
Other Assessment (deferred students) 

Departments should advise students of the dates and deadlines for all other deferred assessments. Wherever possible the deadlines set should be outside of the examination period.  Where this cannot be avoided deadlines must not be set for 12:00 or 15:00 as this will impact the submission load on Moodle.   It is essential that there are no departmental quizzes set during the examination period. 

Examination Papers deadline 27 July 

The examinations office will send out cover sheets to departments on Thursday 16 July, with instructions on how to submit.  It is essential that this deadline as adhered to so that the exams team can then set up the exams on Moodle in readiness for LSA.

Moodle Set Up 

The LSA’s will be set up on the 2019/20 version of Moodle.  As and when the relevant pages are set up the exams team will advise the ELO for a final check before the examination period.  Please ensure that the Moodle pages are not amended or altered in any way, if any edits are required requested changes need to come to the exams office to administer.
