Exam Boards – Guidance on Processing Late Results

Exam board decisions confirmed on Portico by Friday 1 July will be released to students on Thursday 7 July.  

For students with delayed results due to extended submission deadlines or outstanding Academic Misconduct cases, these do not need to wait until your LSA Board meets to be considered, as the main board may delegate authority to a Sub Board to consider out of cycle matters (see regulation 13.3.9). You should avoid Chair’s Action where it is known in advance that students cannot be considered at the Full Board; these students should be considered by a properly constituted Sub Board.  

Please contact your Student Records Manager with details and dates of any Sub Boards taking place in your Dept/Faculty.  

Please notify students whose results will not be confirmed by 1 July, that they will not receive their results email on the 7 July.  Student Records will continue to process results from the 8 July, and will aim to release results within 3-5 working days of Faculty approval.

PGT students will be expecting to receive results on the 7 July.  If you have not held an Interim Board to consider provisional marks, please let your students know that they will not be receiving their results until after the Main Exam Boards in the Autumn.   

Key dates

• 1 July: Exam board decisions for results to be released on 7 July must be confirmed in Portico by this date. 
• 7 July: Publication of majority of student results and awards.
• 8 July: LSA data downloaded for timetabling.
• 13 – 18 July: Departments to review draft LSA timetable and candidate lists.
• 18 July: Deadline for late student outcomes to be included in LSA timetable. 
• 22 July: Deadline for late UG finalist awards to be confirmed in Portico for inclusion in the September 2022 Ceremonies.

NB: UG awards approved after the 22 July, will not be eligible to attend a Ceremony in September 2022, and will be invited to a Ceremony in 2023 instead.
