Understanding Academic Integrity course for students
28 September 2023
Updated version now released in Moodle
An updated version of the Understanding Academic Integrity course for students has now been released. It has been moved from Extend to the main Moodle site.
The course content has been revised in collaboration with academic integrity and academic writing experts at UCL and includes new material covering the use of Generative AI and academic integrity.
Students can access the course as follows:
- Through the URL https://moodle.ucl.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=39060
- Searching in Moodle for ‘Understanding Academic Integrity course for students 2023-24’
- Through the link in the footer of Moodle
Students can self-enrol and there is no enrolment key.
Certificate of completion
Once all required activities have been fulfilled, a certificate of completion will be emailed to the student with their name and date of completion on it. Students are advised to keep the certificate and confirmation email in a safe place for future reference.
If circumstances arise where there are concerns around academic integrity and evidence of participation is required, both the certificate and Moodle activity logs can provide this.
A new version of the course will be created each academic year and the old one archived so that logs can still be accessed if required.
Previous ‘Understanding Academic Integrity and Developing Good Academic Practice at UCL’ Course
Since the link to the previous Extend version may still be in circulation, the course page remains open. Materials have been hidden with a notice at the top informing users of the new version on Moodle and a link provided.
