Admissions Transformation Programme launch rescheduled

After careful and thorough deliberation by the UMC Oversight Group and the Programme Board, a pragmatic decision was made to reschedule the launch of the new Admissions system.

Our primary goal and vision for replacing our current admissions system is to deliver exceptional experiences for both students and staff to serve their needs effectively. The new system shows great promise, and we are excited about the possibilities it offers but we need to ensure that it is the best it can be when it is first presented to our staff and students.

Presently, we need additional time to thoroughly test the new system and ensure its readiness, while also protecting our admissions cycles for 2024/25 academic year.

A strategic reset:

• New timelines: We will now focus on preparing to move to Connected Universities to allow us to open recruitment for January 2026 and September 2026 enrolment cycles.
• Ongoing activities: Our programme team remain focussed on the delivery of the new Admissions system. We will replan User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and staff engagement to align with this revised timeline. The programme will proceed with testing, familiarisation, and training activities in a way that minimises disruption to key admissions activities. Our goal is for everyone to feel confident and well-prepared to use the new system by the time it goes live. We will liaise with you once UAT has been replanned.
• We are also working with other teams across UCL to ensure that we can continue to run UCLSelect for another recruitment cycle, and make any changes to support updated policies, e.g. AccessUCL scheme.

We understand that this decision may bring disappointment and frustration. However, it is crucial that we ensure a seamless transition to the new system and avoid future complications.
