About the qualification

Asset Languages are a qualification offered from Entry Level to Level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework. They were introduced to support the Department for Education’s National Languages Strategy by providing recognition of language proficiency. The qualifications provide candidates with the opportunity to demonstrate competence in one or more of the four skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) and are available in a number of languages. Asset Languages Intermediate Level (Level 2 grades 7-9) are acceptable in lieu of a Foreign Language at GCSE level.
