Write a privacy notice 

UCL has published several ‘global' privacy notices to cover how we process personal data. GDPR requires us to be transparent with individuals about how we use their personal data – so sometimes you’ll need to write a 'local' privacy notice too.

Before you start

This guide is for all UCL staff who need to write a ‘local’ privacy notice. 

Use a ‘local’ privacy notice to provide an individual with detailed information about:

  • what you’re doing with their personal data;
  • how you’re using their personal data; or
  • when you need to deviate from the Global Privacy Notices UCL has published.
