Module description
This module aims to provide an introduction to statistical methods and interpretation of data, along with associated computing required by managers.
Further details are available in the STAT0022 UCL Module Catalogue entry.
Standard prerequisites
GCSE Mathematics
Registration process
STAT0022 is specified as a formal option within various BA Language and/with Management Studies programmes. Students from these programmes should simply register for STAT0022 on Portico and await a decision. It is not necessary to register separately with a member of staff in the Department of Statistical Science (successful admission to an undergraduate programme at UCL already demonstrates that the prerequisite has been met).
STAT0022 is NOT offered as an elective.
Other considerations
Prospective students should be aware that STAT0022 is a core module for the BA Economics and Business with East European Studies programme, for which A level Mathematics (or equivalent) is an entry requirement. The module is designed to be accessible to students without A level Mathematics, but such students may find the material challenging and will need to put in an appropriate amount of self-study to stay on top of it.
