Biographical Details

Jack Dignan completed a BSc (Hons) in Geography at the University of Southampton, followed by an MSc in Environmental and Geological Hazards from the University of Portsmouth. He developed an interest in tsunami fluid flows as an Erasmus+ intern with the Marine Geology and Seafloor Surveying Group at the University of Malta and later worked as a Tsunami Science Researcher with eCoast Marine Consulting and Research in New Zealand. He is currently completing a PhD titled Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and Gaussian Process Emulation: Applications to Tsunami Modelling at University College London. He is a Research Assistant on the ARIA-funded WAVECLIM project, focusing on uncertainty quantification for wave modelling.

Research Interests

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD); Coastal Engineering; Tsunami Hazards; Probabilistic Hazard Analysis; Gaussian Process Emulation.
