UCL Statistical Science to lead consortium in risk and uncertainty for natural hazards
25 July 2012
A consortium led by UCL statisticians has been awarded £2 million by the Natural Environment Research Council, for a four-year programme of research and dissemination activities relating to “Probability, Uncertainty and Risk in the Environment” (PURE). The consortium, which is one of two that have been funded, also includes contributions from the UCL departments of Earth Sciences, Space and Climate Physics and the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction; from Imperial College London, Birkbeck College, the universities of Reading, Oxford, Durham and Edinburgh, the British Geological Survey and the Food and Environment Research Agency; and from a wide range of industrial partners.
