Innovating Engagement

PIU use a range of engagement mechanisms to share research and insight with policymakers, to inform their decisions and deliver policy impact from UCL research.

This includes responding to Government consultations, providing evidence to Select Committee Inquiries, contributing to briefings including POSTnotes, producing policy briefs, and working directly with APPG’ or other groups such as advisory boards.

Complementing this range of activity, the PIU also develops new, innovative models of engagement. These engagement models aim to encourage collaboration, bring more diverse voices together, and build new networks between the academic and policy communities. They also aim to enhance the visibility of research, and develop insights which can be directly applied and used in the policy making process (or other relevant fields.)
