STEaPP hosts workshop on the ethics and regulation of new medicines
14 September 2023
On Wednesday 13th September STEaPP hosted a one-day workshop, in collaboration with the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest (US), UCL’s Global Business School for Health and UCL’s Translational Research Office.
The workshop was the second in a series of three workshops, titled “Ethics and regulation of new medicines: reconciling compassionate access and clinical research”, funded by UCL Innovation and Enterprise.
The workshop gave participants the opportunity to engage with researchers across different disciplines, as well as policymakers from around the world, to facilitate conversations on the ethics and regulation of off-label use of human medicines.
Attendees joined us from across the globe with many travelling to the UK, to visit UCL, whilst others participated online.
- Dr Brian Edwards, Vice-President ISoP (International Society of Pharmacovigilance) (UK)
- Dr Shlomit Zuckerman, Deputy director Center for Bioethics and Law, Tel Aviv University (Israel)
