About the Speaker
Lucy Hogarth
Member of Scientists for Extinction Rebellion
Alongside her PhD in Astrophysics at UCL, Lucy Hogarth has been a member of Scientists for Extinction Rebellion (S4XR) since it formed in 2018. She has led initiatives to improve communication between protestors and publics with live experiments and interactive games.
In "Communicating Science... when no one wants to hear it", Lucy talks about her attempts to change the approach taken by protestors and XR's use of scientists' role as "trusted messengers".
She will discuss XR climate engagement practices and will be available to answer any questions about her experience communicating science to those who really don't want to hear it.
