This page gives new international students information about when to arrive in the UK.
When to arrive at UCL
UCL will be running Welcome Days for January starters on Friday 10 January and Moday 13 January. There will be lots of in-person events and chances to meet new people!
You don't have to arrive early to attend these events, but you want to make sure that you arrive with enough time to settle in before term starts. This can include moving into your accommodation, opening a UK bank account, registering with a GP, and exploring UCL's campus. Getting things sorted out first will make your start to UCL life as smooth as possible.
Things to consider
Of course, there are things to consider if you choose to arrive early.
For students staying in UCL Accommodation, you may need to submit an Early Arrival Request. This can be done on the UCL Accommodation Portal after you have accepted your offer. This also means you will need to pay for any days extra days you spend in UCL Accommodation.
The same extra costs will apply if you are staying in private accommodation (non-UCL Accommodation). However, this will need to be arranged directly with your private accommodation.
This choice is yours to make and whenever you arrive, we look forward to welcoming you to UCL.
