International Student Library Seminars

The International Student Library Seminars give new international students information on the UCL Library services, from using library study spaces to accessing their collections and online library.
It can be particularly daunting if you are also new to the UK, or if English is not your first language. You may be wondering how the library differs from libraries you have used in your own country or elsewhere.
In this seminar we will:
- outline what to expect from UCL’s libraries;
- give an overview of the different types of learning spaces available
- explain how to access our printed collections and online library;
- tell you how to get help and support when you need it to ensure you get the most out of your library.
You will be able to submit live questions during the seminar so we can address all your concerns or queries. We look forward to seeing you in the seminar, and in our libraries.
When are they happening?
The International Student Library Seminars will be taking place from 12.15pm to 12.45pm on Thursday 21 September and Friday 22 September 2023, in the week before the First Term starts.
This is the week in which most new international students choose to arrive at UCL and will be exploring our campuses and London. This is such a crucial point in your time at UCL and we want to make sure that you have all the information you need to make the most of it.
Where are they happening?
The International Student Library Seminars will be taking place on the UCL Bloomsbury campus in G22 Lecture Theatre, North-West Wing.

How can I attend?
Click on the seminar date and time below that suits you. You will then need to register for your seminar on the ticketing system, Eventbrite.
When registering, please use your UCL email address if you have received this. If not, then you can use your personal one.
After you've registered, you will receive a confirmation email as well as subsequent reminder emails leading up to your seminar.
All times are given in British Summer Time (BST).
