Your department will explain your options during induction week.

Log in to Portico to select your preferred modules
We want to help you get a place on the modules you most want to study. Places are not guaranteed. However, submitting your modules as soon as possible when it opens on 09 September will give you the best chance of getting a place on your preferred modules. You will be sent an email inviting you to select.
Check for timetable clashes and check your module locations
It is important to check that your preferred modules do not clash in your draft personal timetable. You should also check the location of your modules and ensure that you have sufficient travel time between campuses.
See steps 7 – 8 of the Guidance on how to select your modules for 2024/25 for guidance on how to check your timetable. View the timetabling FAQs for further information and contact your department if you need additional help to understand your timetable.
September - October
Submit your preferred modules by the deadline
Your modules will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Please be patient. This is a busy time for departments. Your modules will be confirmed as soon as possible.
Modules must be submitted by the deadline of 11 October 2024. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to ensure all students get accepted onto their first choice. From 09 September you will be able to check the status of your modules in Portico within the MyStudies section.
If you are declined from a module selection, you will receive an email and you will need to select an alternative module on Portico.
You will receive an email when all your selections are approved or you can check module selection approval progress within MyStudies on Portico.
Your timetable for the next academic year will also be available here. For more information visit our online timetable webpage.
Check your personal timetable for clashes
Continue to check your timetable. There may be late changes to timings and this can lead to timetable clashes. Please contact your department if you discover any clashes.
