UCL Arena Centre are delivering this session, which is open to all staff at UCL who teaches and are responsible for enhancing the student experience.
One of the main challenges faced by anyone in higher education is to gain and then maintain the attention of students.
In this session, you will hear about lessons gained from examining other professions to increase engagement.
This workshop will present findings from different professions, including:
- stand-up comedians
- preachers, and;
- script writers
After attending this session you will
- understand the value of considering alternative professions to increase your students engagement
- explore alternative professions to use in your teaching
- review your own approach to education
Who should attend
You should attend if you are a member of UCL staff who teaches and are responsible for student engagement.
Postgraduate Teaching Assistants and all early career educators will find this session particularly useful.
