The research behind PEP2: The Curriculum Review
24 October 2024
The Programme Excellence Project (PEP) team have produced The Curriculum Landscape Study – The research that will underpin the Curriculum Review.
The Curriculum Landscape Study
This report is intended to provide academic and professional colleagues in departments and faculties with a rich source of information to support PEP2: The Curriculum Review. The research focuses on data and findings about our programmes and our framework for their design and delivery at UCL.
The three areas of focus are:
- student experience
- curriculum design and delivery
- quality assurance.

To feed into discussions, we have also produced a short Research-Intensive Education Case Study. This provides a starting point for how we might develop a distinctly UCL approach to a research-intensive education: one that is impactful, enlivens the learning experience for our students and makes the most of our strengths.

These resources are intended to guide planning and initiate conversations locally in departments and faculties in preparation for the Curriculum Review.
You can find these documents on the Programme Excellence Project SharePoint.
What’s next?
A consultation period on the draft Curriculum Principles will follow, during which we will hold an in-person Roundtable discussion, provide an online form to gather written feedback, and undertake student consultation in partnership with the Students’ Union.
