Open Doors: Vote 100

In July 2018 UCL delivered an event in collaboration with East Bank partners which was a celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the Representation of the People’s Act

Partnering Sadler’s Wells, Smithsonian Institute, London College of Fashion, UCL and V&A, the event commemorated the Act in which some women were first given the right to vote.

The event, on the 22nd July, included dance, music and poetry, displays, debates, workshops and screenings.

UCL researchers supported activities which looked a plastics activism, exploring political activism through embroidery and a long conversation which brought together artists, film makers, scientists and activist to discuss the question ‘What makes you optimistic about the future.

The East Bank institutions are committed to continuing to partnering to deliver exciting and collaborative events and are working together to plan and prepare future events.
