About ES
Welcome to the Enterprise
Society.
The ES provides a vibrant and fun
community setting to serve as a hub of entrepreneurial activity
within
the diverse, international student community that makes UCL
unique.
ES exists to foster entrepreneurial learning by providing an
opportunity to students and staff to exchange ideas, explore areas of
mutual interest and establish networks of relationships with alumni and
the wider scientific and business community.
The ES also provides leadership to create synergy between student
entrepreneurial aspirations and the wider UCL strategy on
entrepreneurial activities. ES leaders devote substantial time and
effort to the college community in a way that visibly enhances the
experience of every student at UCL.
The Enterprise Society aims to
promote entrepreneurship at UCL.
Whatever your entrepreneurial vision, we are here to support you.
By joining the society you will join a network of highly talented UCL
students, postdocs, faculty and Alumni.
We organise talks from thought leaders in entrepreneurship and hold
regular networking events.
Whether you want to start your own business or transfer your ideas to
industry, a powerful support network is key.

1. Join an entrepreneurial
culture amongst students at UCL via
its events to both undergraduates and postgraduates.

events.
3. Get exposure to short-term internships in an entrepreneurial
environment.

feasibility of business ideas.
7. Hone your presentation skills and develop your business edge
with peer review.
INTRODUCTION
A group of postgraduate students from UCL have established a
new society to serve the needs of students and staff with an interest
in
entrepreneurial activities. The
Enterprise Society (ES) will provide a vibrant, collective and fun
community to
suit the needs of the diverse and international student body. ES will offer to students an opportunity to
explore a variety of entrepreneurial themes and a link to important
networks that
involve alumni and the wider community. The
society will also provide important leadership opportunities within the
school
community. Society leaders and active
members will devote time and energies in a way that visibly enhances
the awareness
and experience of students at UCL.
VISION
We believe that the Enterprise Society will greatly reduce the
gap between academia and industry by providing an exchange forum for
members from both sides.
Through this network we hope to support the generation of
entrepreneurial ideas and to provide insight into how they can be
transformed into vehicles for viable and progressive business.
Within the first year alone will believe that the society will attract
a sizeable and flourishing community of commercially aware students and
researchers.
At the forefront of our activities will be our conferences which will
highlight a selection of innovative, diverse, and intelligent business
leaders.
MISSION
The ES mission is to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit amongst
academics and students. The ES is aimed at existing
students, alumni, and staff interested in getting involved in the
entrepreneurial world. By providing the right environment and
infrastructure as well as the appropriate support and mentorship we
anticipate that we can effectively enthuse members towards getting
involved in enterprise learning, technology transfer and/or the
formation of spin out companies. By assisting students interested
in innovation and entrepreneurship, whether in the context of starting
their own business, transferring their research into the industry or
working for a firm with an entrepreneurial culture, we can help them in
making the most of their time at UCL and in equipping them for the
challenges they may face after graduation or completion of their PhD.
We facilitate interaction between industry experts and students thereby
providing students with exposure to the wider business and fundraising
communities. Investors in turn gain access to the vibrant research and
entrepreneurial communities at UCL.
The Society provides networking opportunities and educational
experiences for a range of social enterprise careers. Our members share
common visions and values that support lasting personal and
professional relationships.
