When I was in high school, I watched a documentary called the man who builds America, which was about the conflict between tesla's alternating current and Edison's direct current, the conflict between scientists on the surface, but behind it was a war between American bankers. Finally, JPMorgan won it; the alternating current was used everywhere. It makes me wonder whether science changed the world or finance.
Since then, I started to be interested in investment Banking, and I thought their business, such as initial public offering that contributes capital to the company merge and acquisition, promoting company grows up. Investment Banking helps companies optimize production and allocate resources better. It is fascinating and not just play with money.
Also, I have been network from speaking with my career mentor, who from JP Morgan M&A group; he told me the culture in investment banking is very dynamic and collaborative. Since they will face clients from different industries such as technology, healthcare, and fashion, work at investment banking, I will have opportunities to get exposure to different sectors and make me energetic. Besides, I enjoy the collaborative culture, I have been practiced at the University of Bristol Chinese society. I was the external relations department director, so I need to be an excellent leader to give our members clear divisions of the task. Also, I need to be an ideal follower to assist the president. I enjoy collaborative teamwork, making works creative and efficient.
I want to join Investment banking, learn the power of finance, and achieve self-value.
Besides, I have a lot of multicultural experience. In high school, I participated in the Study Tours in the UK, researchedBrexit's impact, and communicated with local people.
I am a good communicator, and I like to share my life with others. Many Chinese students and parents are worried about their life abroad due to the influence of Covid19 this year. As I have one year's living and learning experience at the University of Bristol, I held a sharing meeting on Beijing's overseas study life. I made a presentation to answer the questions of parents and students.
