Support for Applying for External Funding

EDI-related Support for Applying for External Funding and Conducting Research Projects

If you are applying for external funding, the ERB Centre can support applications, and the resulting research projects if funded, with expert equality, diversity and inclusion advice and guidance.

The ERB Centre can be added as a partner to a grant, or as an EDI consultant, and can provide the following support:

  • Expertise regarding ethical and administrative issues in EDI research, including using inclusive methodologies, identifying and mitigating bias, and using inclusive language.

  • Guidance on co-production and co-evaluation.

  • Assistance with obtaining PPI/co-production partners, as well as liaising with and advertising research to partner networks.

  • Representation on the ERB Centre webpages.

  • Consultancy on ED issues

  • Chairing independent committees on Randomised Control Trials.

  • Recommendations, advice and editing on report writing.

  • Supporting with hosting, or co-hosting, inclusion and dissemination events.

  • Support letters for Funders

This list is not intended to be exhaustive, but rather to provide a steer of expected support requests.

Please note that this support is expected to be remunerated and explicitly acknowledged in grant applications, publications and other dissemination efforts. The level of this renumeration will be discussed on a case-by-case basis but a minimum of £600 per year is expected. This income will be used to support the Centre and to its community of partners from minority communities within and outside UCL, groups with lived experience of mental or neurological symptoms, and other experts.

For any enquiries please do contact the Director of the ERB Centre, Aikaterini Fotopoulou (a.fotopoulou@ucl.ac.uk) directly.
