William Power Trench died at Belleview, Jamaica, 1848.
Correspondence between William Shand of Fettercairn and a W.P. Trench, located at University of Aberdeen Special Collections, shows that, on 25 June 1823, French accepted an offer to work on the Shands' estates in Jamaica.
An article by Christopher Whyms-Stone (2005) argued that Trench Town in Kingston Jamaica was named after Daniel Power Trench, the son of William Power Trench.
