George Whitehorne Lawrence II

Son of Benjamin John Lawrence of The Crawl (1768-1796) and great-nephew of George Whitehorne Lawrence I of Running Gut estate (d. 1783).

1. Son of Comfort Ann Hind and Benjamin Lawrence, his father died when he was a child and his mother remarried to John Taylor. His step-father took control of his affairs.

2. Shown as of Castle Duncan, Largnean,  Dumries and Galloway in 1852. Confirmation 20/07/1874 of Commissariot of Dumfries 16/07/1874 of Benjamin James Lawrence son and executor nominate of George Whitehorn [sic] Lawrence sometime of Largnean in Kircudbright but lately of Robgill Tower Dumfries who died 21/06/1874.

3. In 1861 George W. Lawrence aged 66 born Jamaica, 'gentleman, landed proprietor' Jane F. Lawrence aged 63, Anne and Jane F. Lawrence were living with servants at 48 Canning Street Liverpool.

Vere Langford Oliver, Caribbeana being miscellaneous papers relating to the history, genealogy, topography, and antiquities of the British West Indies (6 vols., London, Mitchell, Hughes and Clarke, 1910-1919), Vol. 5, pp. 121-132, Lawrence of Jamaica pedigree and documents (which gives 22/06/1874 as date of death). Online genealogical documents show a third daughter, Sarah W. Lawrence.
