'Mrs Jane Rowland', counterclaimed as executrix (and almost certainly as widow) of Edward Rowland (q.v.), the brother of Gabriel Rowland of Port Royal, for the compensation for the enslaved people on Chatsworth estate in Port Royal Jamaica. There appears to have been a negotiated settlement.
Jane was born c. 1782 and died March 1850 aged 68. She married Edward Rowland in1814 in Mallwyd, Merioneth. They had two children, Richard (Rose) and William Rowland, baptised in Mold, 14 May 1816 and 13 June 1818 respecitvely; abode Gwesaney, parents Edward and Jane, he Gentleman/Yeoman.
After her husband died in 1832, a note attached to his Will of 1833 records that Jane Rowlands was his executrix. She died on or just before 25 March 1850.
