Biography

Two individuals inferred by LBS to have been the trustees of Matilda Euphemia Michell nee Wilson and her husband Rev. Bennett Michell were awarded part of the compensation for the enslaved people attached to Montpellier and Cradley, both on Tobago.

  1. Matilda Euphemia Michell widow died 01/02/1866 at the Parks, Minehead, leaving £8000.

  2. The 1833 Chancery suit of Michell v Noding, not yet examined by LBS, presumably deals with 'slave-property' on Tobago given the plaintiffs and defendants.
