Biography

Son of William Ewart (q.v.). Given in Parliamentary Papers as George Ewart. Partner in Ewart Myers (q.v.) and with his partners awarded the compensation for Long Lane Delap's estate in Antigua as mortgagees-in-trust.

  1. Will of John Ewart of Liverpool proved 01/10/1839. In the will he identified Joseph Christopher Ewart as his brother and William Myers and William Taylor as his partners. The will was made when he was unmarried but had an intended wife Eliza Cheney; his will was generic and provide that if he had two sons or two daughters or three or more children his estates should be divided equally but if he had only a son and a daughter the daughter's share was to be capped at £20,000.
