Hire the museum

The Grant Museum is available to hire for receptions, talks and seminars, film screenings, filming and photoshoots, and private tours.

What we offer

The museum’s unique look and extraordinary collection makes a wonderful backdrop for any event.

Capacities

  • 55 people standing
  • 45 seated for talks and screenings
  • 20 for private tours

Availability

The Grant Museum is available for hire Tuesday - Saturday evenings. We are unable to accommodate venue hire requests during our standard public opening hours or when the space is in use for teaching.

Filming

Our unique and historic collection is the perfect setting for photo shoots, documentary filming and more. Full and half day filming is available with notice and subject to UCL teaching schedules. Please contact our museum team for further information and to arrange a site visit.

Food and drink

Our catering offer includes a selection of cold drinks (inclusive of an alcohol license) and canapes via our in-house supplier Gather & Gather. Our team will assist with all catering orders as part of the booking process.

Audio visual equipment

The museum has an inbuilt projector, screen and speakers that can be used during events. All audio-visual requirements must be agreed in advance, and it is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure any externally sourced laptops / cables are compatible with our equipment. There is no other in-house AV available.

The museum has excellent acoustics for singing and microphone free public speaking.

Accessibility

The museum is completely accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility from street level via the main museum entrance. Read more on accessibility at the UCL Grant Museum of Zoology.

  • information about your event/s
  • your prefered date/s and time/s
  • attendee numbers
  • whether you require catering
  • whether you are a UCL staff member organising a UCL event.

Venue hire costs are dependent on the type of event, staffing and catering requirements, and the length of hire. Please contact our events team to request a quote.
