Professor Amartya Sen is a Nobel Laureate in Economics and Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University. His writings include include Development as Freedom (1999); Rationality and Freedom (2002), a discussion of social choice theory; and The Idea of Justice (2009), a critique of existing theories of social justice.
