Careers Week: Alumni Panel - International Security & Technology
19 May 2021, 5:00 pm–6:00 pm
New technologies have expanded the realm of opportunities exponentially. Careers in fields that students may not have imagined or considered have drawn our alumni. Come and meet some of our alumni who have forged careers linked to the spin-off effects of technology in international security and our daily lives. Julia Babahina’s (MSc IPP, 2010-2011) path has taken her from a research assistant in the House of Commons to being a Compliance & Security Analyst for Return Path, working in Cyber Security Incident Response with PA Consulting, and she is currently an IT Risk Manager with Metro Bank. Grant Obens (MSc Security Studies, 2016-2018) spent several years as an Abuse Fraud Investigator for Amazon and worked as a Payments, Fraud and Verification Analyst before going on to his current position as a Fraud Manager for Karhoo. Liam Monsell (MSc Security Studies, 2016-2017) is a Counter-Extremism and Disinformation Analyst, having spent several years at Moonshot CVE using data driven techniques to enable effective responses to violent extremism, Liam currently works as a Senior Intelligence Analyst for Protection Group International.
