Dr Roland Kappe
Biography
I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Political Science, as well as in the UCL Department of European Social and Political Studies. Before joining UCL, I obtained my PhD in political science at Stony Brook University, New York. A native of Paderborn, Germany, I studied Politics and Administration at the University of Konstanz and the University of Pavia, Italy, and worked for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.
Research
My research interests cover several substantive fields, including political economy, comparative politics, public opinion and elections, as well as education and social policy. To answer questions in these fields, I use quantitative methods, with a special focus on time series analysis and methods for causal inference using observational data.
