The 8th IMC was organized by University College London and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague; and held under the auspices of the Rector of the Charles University, Professor Ivan Wilhelm. It was sponsored by Goldman Sachs. It took place at Charles University, Prague from the 19th of July to the 25th of July, 2001.
