This year's competition was co-organized by
University College London and
Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca,
Romania. Babes-Bolyai University, which traces its roots back to 1565, has
over 40,000 students in 19
Faculties. It is named after the physician and bacteriologist Victor
Babes and the mathematician Janos Bolyai, one of the founders of
non-Euclidian geometry, who was born in Cluj.
The competition was extended over seven days and took place
in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from the 25th to the 31st of
July, 2003.
