Son of Herbert Newton Jarrett I and his wife of unknown forename, maiden surname Chute. Owner of Orange Valley in Trelawny (bequeathed to his son Herbert Newton Jarrett III) and Kent estate, also in Trelawny (given to his son John Jarrett II during his lifetime).
Herbert Jarrett was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 60 acres of land in St James and 300 acres of land in Hanover, total 360 acres. This may be Herbert II or Herbert I.
