  1. Son of Charles Snell of Austin Friars London arm., matriculated St John's Oxford 29 Oct 1807 aged 18: of Dane End Herts., lord of the manor of Little Munden. Charles Snell of Austin Friars (as Charles Snell Chauncey) appears in Rubinstein Vol. 1 [1809/18] as West India merchant, son of William Snell and Martha Chauncey, marrying his cousin Amelia daughter of Nathaniel Chauncey and leaving £125,000.

  2. Brother of Nathaniel Snell Chauncy (q.v.).

  3. Married Elizabeth Beale 9 August 1817 St Marylebone; daughter Elizabeth baptised 14/03/1821 at St Marylebone.

  4. Sheriff of Hertfordshire 29/01/1840.

  5. 17/11/1866 will proven of Charles Snell Chauncy late of Dane End Little Munden in the County of Hertford who died 09/11/1866 at Dane End, effects under £6000 (resworn at the Stamp Office March 1870 under £16,000).
